Well I have started and now I guess I better keep going.  Why?  Because I have had a pretty good life and I would like our Children and grandchildren to be able to look at their lives and say the same.  I remember Gloria Herbert of Te Rarawa saying when she was looking at a vision for the future, that she saw her great grandchildren sitting around and commenting that their Nana had looked after their assets well in the past.

I don't want my descendants saying I did nothing to protect their future.  My Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather all went off to fight "righteous" wars to ensure that I was able to live my life the way I have.  The best I got offered was to go to Vietnam and that did not seem to be a good choice so I deferred.

If I can do nothing other than get others to think about how we are being manipulated and controlled by an unseen cartel of wealthy who really do not care about who we are or how we feel, then maybe I have done something.  We are simply production units to generate wealth for them.  Put that into a New Zealand context and we have just added 4 million more sheep to our total and the judas goats we vote for get hay and carrots at the end of the day but they will end up as "dog tucker" when they have outlived their usefulness and they don't even know it.

So join the debate and just maybe over time we will be able to have some control over our future.

"Z" and not the science fiction program but just as bad

"Z" (zee if you are American, and Zed if not) is the new outlet for Shell in new Zealand.  Shell one of the oil companies that regularly ravages you wen you need to get petrol.  Who owns them, well they say Infratil and the New Zealand Pension Fund and a companies search will confirm that.  What it will also confirm that the "Dark" company owned by Treasury, New Zealand Securities Depository Limited, also is the major shareholder in Infratil.

So now you can feel much better when you get ravished because it is you the Kiwi taxpayer who is doing it to yourself through two organisations you own.  Your Super Fund and Your Government.  Now does that not just give you a warm glow of contentment?

Support to the people of Greece

Now that the people of Greece have started a popular and peaceful uprising against their Government I suppose we can expect the following to happen.

Nato will start bombing police targets

France will supply weapons to the protesters so they can over through their oppressive Government

The International Court will issue warrants or the arrest of the Greek Prime Minister for crimes against humanity committed on his people (tear gas attacks, baton charges et)

The "world Press" will report only the view of the protestors and condemn the "oppressive regime" of George Papandreou for the crimes has is about to commit against his people in the name of austerity.

Isn't it cool that all of those noble Greek politicians are prepared to sew their people up because the EU tells them to.  Just makes you proud to know they invented Democracy.  I bet those three Hundred Spartan's wish they had taken up the Persian offer. All he wanted was for Leonidas to kneel.

C'mon people it surely does not take much to figure out that our turn will come sooner or later.

Interesting Company links

Mr Alan Trevor Jackson is a director of Fletcher Building Ltd and Fletcher Building Industries Ltd and by pure coincidence he is also director of Housing New Zealand Ltd and its wholly owned company Community Housing Ltd.  Now aint that handy?

Also have a look at the great New Zealand Co-operative Fontera.  If you are a Hopkins, Barry, Davidson, Shepherd, Russell, Hubbard (yep those ones in the gun) or Morris whanau you are in luck because they own by far the majority of the shares so when the crown bleats about how great Fontera is doing for New Zealand it is sure doing better for the above whanau who in turn are probably doing better for the Government.

Remember to get that vaseline.

p.s The company that Treasury Owns,  New Zealand Securities Depository Limited seems to own 40% of the Auckland International Airpot shares (but then of course Treasury say that they don't actually own them even if the Airport Website says they do???)

Who owns our country?

I have been curious about how much money we are borrowing to keep our country going and so asked the Debt Management Unit of Treasury how it worked.

Essentially they put up "Bonds" which authorized organsiations buy (most being banks).  These authorized people can then onset them to whoever they want to and Treasury have no idea about who these are.

This makes a bit of a mockery out of having people "authorized" to buy them in the first instance but also raises the question about if Treasury does not know who they are unsold to how do they know who owns our debt?

The next issue was that of Fletchers Building and the email going around about that.  I did the search myself and a company solely owned by Treasury is the biggest share holder.  Now Treasury say that this is simply a mechanism for other people to own the shares through this company (or some such thing).  If that is true then the people that do own the shares are actually not known or visible to us (and why not) so who actually owns the shares of Fletchers that are shown on the Companies Register to be owned by the Treasury Company?  I know that CitiBank and JP Morgan (the ultimate corporate parasites) are also shareholders which tends to fill me with great confidence (Tui Add).

They say that this is a 20 year old practice which suggest that it must somehow therefore be OK.  Child abuse and Slavery go back further but the longevity of the practice does not make it right.

My conclusion is we have no idea who owns our debt or who owns some of our major companies which is not the ideal that four generations of my family fought for, and yet we do nothing?
